Sellers are setting ever higher starting prices. May prices for both villas and condominiums reached record levels.
But this has instead calmed the wild bidding, at least in general. More and more homes are being sold below the asking price: 34 percent of apartments and 38 percent of single-family homes.
"It is a market that is significantly different today than it was a few years ago. Starting prices are generally set high, which also means that bidding more often goes downwards," says Erik Holmberg, market analyst at Hemnet, in a written comment.
