The Moderates want to introduce mandatory outdoor recreation days once a semester for all grades in primary school.

The party's first outdoor recreation policy program contains proposals ranging from how children and the elderly can get out into nature more to giving outdoor recreation organizations a role in civil preparedness.

Nothing is said about financing, but M is prepared to invest, according to M leader and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

We believe the links to many other areas of society make it economically important to provide funding that pays back in other ways, he says, mentioning integration, mental health, loneliness and physical activity.

The Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association welcomes the initiative, but points out that the government has cut the nature conservation budget by 60 percent since 2022.
