"To succeed, we must link our various air defense systems together," Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) said at a press conference with her Latvian counterpart Baiba Braze.
"It will require multiple layers of systems working together, sharing sensor data, to detect and combat ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, and other threats."
"Latvia is doing what is required on the eastern flank," Braze said.
"We are the only country with an eastern border with both Russia and Belarus."
Many countries are now investing in air defence systems modelled on Israel's famous "Iron Dome." Both Sweden and Latvia have previously participated in the European Sky Shield Initiative (Essi), a similar but broader initiative led by Germany.
