The Moderate Party's vice party leader Elisabeth Svantesson says that it is no longer a matter of course that new generations will have it better than the old ones.
Only one in four young people looks positively at Sweden's future. That feels like a blow to the heart, she says.
According to Svantesson, who is filling in for The Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson who is at an EU summit in Brussels, it is not so strange considering gang shootings, exclusion, war, climate crisis and "a very harsh and unforgiving tone on social media".
The Minister of Finance's vision is a country where young people once again feel hope
"Costs an enormous amount"
But a worrying world and domestic problems also cause trouble economically. She says that major investments in defense, police and the judicial system require tough priorities from the government.
Building a safer Sweden costs a lot of money, according to Svantesson.
The way forward is therefore for Sweden to become richer, she says.
We understand that on our side of politics.
Growth is those who are first on the scene. Those who turn on the light in the store. Those who night after night work at the nursing home, or put the key in the truck.
To get growth going and support households, The Moderate Party wants to invest in an "economic protection package" in the next budget.
Households, families with children and families will be The Moderate Party's absolute top priority. Above all else.
Households' economy will be strengthened, among other things, through more jobs, a restored work ethic, a benefit reform and more money in the wallet, says Svantesson.
"Forced relocations"
Elisabeth Svantesson also gives a scolding to the left side of politics, which according to her wants higher immigration and higher taxes. She warns against The Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar as a potential future Minister of Finance.
Sweden will not become richer and safer with more left-wing parties in Rosenbad. We actually have eight years of experience here in Sweden. And Sweden became poorer and more dangerous.
Do you want increased freedom, a house and a Volvo, or forced relocations from a house to a concrete suburb, she says.
