The first alarm about gunfire at Campus Risbergska in Örebro is received by the police.
The first police officers arrive at the scene just over five minutes after the alarm. When they enter the school, they are met with smoke, among other things. They are also shot at by the perpetrator, Rickard Andersson.
Shortly afterwards, more police officers arrive at the scene.
At 12:45:
Rickard Andersson takes his own life, the police investigation has shown.
At 1:20 p.m.:
The police, who do not yet know that Andersson has taken his own life, are urging the public via their website to stay away from the Västhaga district, where the school is located, as an operation is underway that "concerns threats of deadly violence."
At 1:40 p.m.:
The perpetrator is found dead with several weapons next to him. The emergency police operation is called off.
At 1:50 p.m.:
Police say at least five people were shot.
At 4:00 p.m.:
All students have been evacuated from the school, the police tell Dagens Nyheter. The evacuation has been ongoing for some time.
At 6:00 p.m.:
Police Chief Roberto Eid Forest holds an emotional press conference for media on site in Örebro, where he says that “about ten people have died.” Eid Forest also says that the perpetrator is among the dead and that he is not previously known to the police.
At 7:30 p.m.:
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and his party colleague, Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer, hold a press conference in Stockholm. Kristersson describes the incident as “the worst mass shooting in Swedish history.”
At 11:55 p.m.:
The police confirm that eleven people, one of whom is the perpetrator, are dead after the attack on Risbergska.
