The Ministry of Foreign Affairs now advises against non-essential travel to the border areas with Gaza and Lebanon within a distance of ten kilometers from the respective border. Travel to the Golan Heights is also advised against.
From 10 November, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' advice also applies to all travel to Gaza and the West Bank provinces of Jenin, Tulkarm, Tubas and Qalqilia, as well as to the parts of Nablus province north of Nablus city. The same applies to travel to other areas of the West Bank north of Ramallah and Jericho, and south of Bethlehem.
"We see an improved security situation since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was signed on October 10. The travel advice is now being updated to reflect this," writes Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard on X.
However, she emphasizes that it remains difficult to predict how the situation will develop, and that Swedes traveling to Israel should stay closely updated on developments.
