Ministers' Secret Addresses Accidentally Disclosed by Riksdag Administration

Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson (M) and Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), Minister for Civil Defence, had their secret addresses revealed by the Riksdag Administration. This occurred when Altinget requested the agreements for the ministers' overnight apartments in Stockholm.

The information in the agreements, addresses, apartment numbers, and property designations, is covered by secrecy, but was so poorly masked that it could be read.

I have never experienced a situation where an authority says that something is covered by secrecy and then masks it so poorly that the information is revealed, says Malen Wallén, strategic advisor at the Centre for Total Defence and Societal Security at the Defence University, to Altinget.

The Riksdag Administration says via its press service that it takes the incident seriously. There are clear guidelines for how secrecy-covered information should be masked, and the authority will review its working methods to ensure that something similar does not happen again.

In addition to Svantesson and Bohlin, Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M) also had her address revealed.

After adjustments in an image editing program, it was also possible to discern a property designation that revealed in which house Elderly- and Social Insurance Minister Anna Tenje (M) lives.
