It is stated by Swedish Trade in its style index for the month of October.
The CEO of Swedish Trade, Sofia Larsen, points out that fashion retail is weather-dependent and states in a press release that October's unusually high temperatures have slowed down the sales of warmer clothing and shoes.
The sales of clothes increased marginally by 0.4 per cent compared to the previous month, while shoe sales decreased by 8.7 per cent.
E-commerce has continued to develop better than in-store sales on the clothing side, and shoes are also losing less in e-commerce. However, consumption has not yet increased overall, despite interest rate cuts, it is stated in the press release.
"It is obvious that the competition for customers is tough and we clearly see that purchasing power is still weak," comments Larsen.
