The Swede took the lead after the first round, which he finished at six under par.

Then the Stockholmer continued to impress. With solid play in the second round, he remained at the top and after the third round, Lindberg retained the lead at seven under par, tied with Portuguese Daniel Rodrigues.

The top duo battled for victory in the fourth and final round, with Lindberg finishing strongest and winning with a total of -10, two strokes ahead of Rodrigues, who tied for second place with Italian Guido Migliozzi.

“I wanted to vomit”

"It's a dream come true. I've dreamed about this for so many years. It was a tough week, and I don't really know how to describe it, but it's been tough mentally," Lindberg tells Viaplay.

He adds:

"If I'm honest about how I felt on the last few holes, I felt completely dizzy and like I wanted to throw up."

Lindberg has been in great form lately. Last week he recorded his best result on the European Tour to date when he came third at the China Open.

The victory brings a prize check of $467,500, equivalent to 4.3 million kronor.

“Didn't even know”

Further down the field, the Swedish trio Joakim Lagergren, Jens Danstorp and Tobias Jonsson tied for 18th place.

The tournament was the final one in what the tour calls the "Asian Swing," a series of tournaments held in Asia. Lindberg finished in first place in that ranking.

This means that the Swede has qualified for his debut in a major, the PGA Championship, which will be played between May 14 and 17 in Pennsylvania, USA.

"Wow. I didn't even know that was possible. It's going to be incredible," he says.
