I think most people are satisfied with this Midsummer forecast, says Marie Staerk, meteorologist at SMHI.

Midsummer Eve starts sunny in both Götaland and Sveland. Then the clouds grow, but it's about cumulus clouds.

These are the woolly, fluffy clouds during the day. Maybe some local shower can occur, but then you have to be a bit unlucky, says Marie Staerk.

Colder in the north

In Götaland and Svealand, the temperature will be between 17 and 23 degrees. In Norrland, it will be slightly cooler, just over 15 degrees along the Norrland coast and between 12 and 15 degrees in Norrland's inland. In Norrland, the risk of showers is also greater, especially in the Jämtland–Härjedalsfjällen towards Åre and in northern Norrland.

The high pressure that on Midsummer Eve is expected to be over the British Isles will on Midsummer Day be over Denmark. The consequence is that there will be southerly winds and even warmer air.

Then we can get just over 20 degrees in both Götaland and Svealand. In many places, the forecast is 25 or a single degree above, says Marie Staerk.

Less cloud

On Midsummer Day, there will be less cloud and in many places a really sunny day. In Norrland, it will be varying cloudiness in most places and some occasional shower. Temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees.

It will be another notch warmer during Sunday, nearly 30 degrees in the Baltic Sea landscapes and around 25 degrees in many places in Götaland and Sveland. Even in southern Norrland, you can reach over 25 degrees, especially in the more coastal landscapes.
