Tottenham's Micky van de Ven broke Alexander Isak's leg. Now he apologizes.

"I've sent him a message," he told Sky Sports.

Van de Ven came on late in a duel and Liverpool's Alexander Isak had to leave the field with what later turned out to be a broken leg.

"I didn't want to hurt him, that wasn't the intention. I think it was a bit unlucky how his foot ended up between my legs," Van de Ven told Sky Sports.

He escaped without a caution in the match, but the criticism afterwards has been massive. Liverpool's manager called the tackle "careless" in the press conference the following day.

In his message, Van de Ven wished Isak all the best with his recovery, and Alexander Isak responded.

He really appreciated the message, and wrote back, says Van de Ven.

Liverpool have said that it is a "long-term injury" for Isak, and according to a doctor, it could be a matter of rehab for up to six months. In three months, Sweden will play the World Cup playoff against Ukraine in Valencia, and Alexander Isak's participation is therefore highly uncertain.
