It was after Donald Trump criticized the portrait of him hanging in the state of Colorado's parliament building that documentary filmmaker and left-wing debater Michael Moore reacted. The President claimed that the artist had "intentionally distorted" the painting – and wanted a "better" one. With a twinkle in his eye, Moore urged his followers to help him out, and since then, the works have been pouring in, reports Cultural News in SVT.
"I have been overwhelmed by some of the finest depictions of our President, and I am convinced that he will soon declare that we are the greatest nation of artists the world has ever seen", writes Moore on his blog.
Now he is showcasing the first 35 works – and wonders if no galleries want to make room for the exhibition: "Portraits of Potus — America's Art Attack for Democracy".
Moore adds: "Yes, Trump deserves his own show! Many shows! Loads of shows! All shows! It would make him happy. These portraits will make him happy".
