In 2019, the TV company HBO produced a two-part documentary, directed by Dan Reed, in which the Australian dancer Wade Robson and American actor James Safechuck told about their long-term relationship with Michael Jackson and the abuse they suffered as children at the hands of the pop star.
The hour-long sequel will premiere on Britain's Channel 4 on March 18, reports Variety.
Once again, Dan Reed is behind the direction, and according to distributor Sphere Abacus, the documentary depicts the time after Robson and Safechuck went public with their accusations against Jackson. In addition to receiving strong support, the duo has also faced a lot of hate and persecution – not least from Jackson's fans around the world.
With "exclusive access to court documents," the film also promises to show to what extent Jackson's estate has worked to prevent Wade Robson and James Safechuck from taking the case to court.
Michael Jackson denied the allegations during his lifetime, and his family has continued to do so.
Plans are also underway for a third and final part of the documentary series, which will depict Robson's and Safechuck's lawsuit against Jackson's estate, a trial expected to begin next year.
