One tropical storm, which has been named Barry, was formed out in the Mexican Gulf about 140 kilometers from the eastern coastal city of Tuxpan, according to the US Hurricane Center NHC in Miami. It is expected to increase in strength until it moves over land, after which the strength is then expected to decrease rapidly.
Shortly thereafter came the message that Flossie was formed about 390 kilometers south of Acapulco on Mexico's southwestern coast. Flossie is likely to be upgraded to a hurricane, but is moving west over the Pacific Ocean.
Several locations have issued tropical storm warnings. The storms are expected – on both coasts – to bring up to 15 centimeters of rain, but locally it can come up to 25 centimeters according to weather services.
