The Book Fair has had the same logo since its inception in 1985. But just over a month ago, they received the message that their Facebook page would not be recommended to users.

We suspect that it's because the mermaid is topless, but we haven't received an answer from Meta. We think it's strange that a reading mermaid can be classified as inappropriate, says the Book Fair's communications manager Maria Rogstad to DN.

The half-naked mermaid reading in the logo comes from the cover of the first book printed in Sweden, "Skapelsens sedelärande samtal" from 1483. Ahead of the 40th anniversary last year, the fair also created a literary prize with its symbol.

The fair has not had problems with the logo on other social media.

The Book Fair will take place on September 25-28 in Gothenburg.
