The leaders from the 32 NATO countries, with the US President Donald Trump at the forefront, arrive on Tuesday to participate in the evening in a dinner at the castle with the Dutch royal couple as hosts. Also, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is invited there.
Other countries' leaders will also come to The Hague to participate in various meetings and arrangements. In addition, there is a long list of foreign and defense ministers on site.
According to the Dutch government, around 9,000 people are expected to come to The Hague due to the summit, including diplomats, officials, and journalists.
They will be protected by a massive security effort, the largest ever in the Netherlands, according to the news agency AP.
Approximately 27,000 police officers will be on duty in connection with the summit, along with 10,000 military personnel, reports AP.
Along the coast, frigates are patrolling, and F35 fighter jets are monitoring the air together with Apache helicopters.
