The gaming company Massive offers a "voluntary program" to employees who want to leave the company. The purpose is to reduce the number of employees. It applies to both Stockholm and Malmö, says Thomas Andrén, CEO of the company.

According to Andrén, there is no goal in advance for how many permanent employees the company wants to accept the offer.

We have created this opportunity for employees who are between projects and we do not have a "target" in that way, he says.

The offer, which includes career help and financial support, was sent to employees on Wednesday. Andrén has therefore not had time to create an impression of whether there is any interest and how large it is in that case.

If employees do not choose to accept the offer, there is currently no plan for how the company will proceed with the matter.

The message comes as Massive changes its focus, where the company will no longer develop the major projects "Star wars outlaws" and "Avatar" in the future.

Our focus is to work with our new areas of focus, which are "The division" and create the organization we need. We are making that transition at the same time as the voluntary program is being implemented. When we have gone through that process, we will know more about what we have for needs, says Andrén.

"The division" is an action role-playing game series played on the internet, where a third part is under development. "Outlaws" performed below expectations, but according to Andrén, it has nothing to do with the company now choosing to abandon larger external projects outside "The division".
