Kragh's programme, which at the time of writing has 1.9 million listeners across both the podcast and live broadcast, was his last public appearance before he died at the end of July.

In the programme, Kragh devoted his time to sharing his expertise on Russia and the war in Ukraine in a personal farewell to listeners.

He was able to convey his knowledge and be personal. That remains forever, and it is a comfort in grief, says Bibi Rödöö.

“Lots of love”

She is also glad that Kragh had time to take part in the reactions to the programme before he died.

There was so much love and gratitude from so many people.

The other names in the podcast top for this year's "Summer" are DJ Sebastian Ingrosso, actor Helena Bergström, lawyer Johan Eriksson and US correspondent Ginna Lindberg.

The World Cup affected

Over 2.8 million people between the ages of 12 and 79 have listened to "Sommar" at some point on P1 (FM or digital), which corresponds to approximately 32 percent of the population in that age group.

This is a lower percentage than in 2025, when 36 percent listened. Bibi Rödöö explains this by saying they had competition from another "campfire": the World Cup.

It was a historic season in linear radio. Firefighter Robin Larmérus talked about his work in Ukraine and topped the list of most listeners in P1's live broadcast. It is the first time that the listeners' summer host has reached the top spot since the category was introduced in 2007.

Robin Larmérus's story about his colleagues' struggle in war-torn Ukraine touched me and made me better understand how vulnerable firefighters are during a war, says Bibi Rödöö.

Larmérus's programme was broadcast later in the summer but already has over a million listeners digitally and through live broadcasts.

Facts: “Summer in P1”

"Summer in P1" has been broadcast on the radio since 1959. It is Sweden's largest podcast and has topped Poddindex all summer.

During week 29, the programme had over 2 million in reach, and the average weekly reach landed at 1.6 million.

SR comes up with the figure of 1.9 million listeners for Martin Kragh by combining listening figures for podcasts and live broadcasts. However, they emphasise that this is not statistically completely accurate since podcast listening is measured as the number of started listening sessions and P1 listening is measured in the number of people.
