Martin Fröst receives Natur & Kultur cultural prize of 500,000 SEK

The jury highlights "a groundbreaking and courageous international artistry that has created new expressions within classical music."

"It is an honor to receive the Natur & Kultur cultural prize. My artistry is about opening new doors to the future! To be recognized for that is very honorable," says Martin Fröst in a press release.

Fröst is considered one of the world's foremost clarinetists and is also chief conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.

The Natur & Kultur cultural prize has been awarded since 1974 and is one of Sweden's largest cultural prizes. Past recipients include Henrik Dorsin, Kerstin Ekman, Laleh, Marie-Louise Ekman, Kristina Lugn and Hans Alfredson.
