Thousands of people had gathered for Friday's ceremony at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi. When mourners tried to reach Odinga's coffin, congestion arose and a large number of people were injured, several of them seriously, in the pursuit of saying goodbye to the opposition leader.
On Friday evening, Doctors Without Borders announced that two of those injured had died from their injuries.
Also on Thursday, chaotic scenes arose when people gathered to see Odinga's coffin in a separate ceremony. At least three people were killed when security forces then opened fire to disperse the crowd.
Raila Odinga was Kenya's Prime Minister from 2008-2013. After losing power, he has continued to be a very popular key figure in Kenyan politics, for several years as opposition leader.
The 80-year-old died in India on Wednesday and was flown home to Kenya the next day.
