Defeat against Tottenham in the League Cup, against Bournemouth in the Premier League and against Viktor Gyökeres' Sporting in the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola's machine has been struggling lately, and against Brighton there was no change. The team lost their fourth straight match when Brighton turned the game around and won 2–1.
It was City who struck first, when Erling Haaland scored the leading goal in the first half. A goal that was long-awaited for the Norwegian, who had struggled with scoring goals in recent weeks.
But Brighton would bounce back.
"Up to us players"
In the 78th minute, substitute João Pedro could score the equalizer, and just five minutes later it was time for another substitute to strike.
Danish Matt O'Riley came through, and rolled in 2–1 for the home team.
The result stood until the end of the match, and when the referee blew the final whistle, Pep Guardiola could conclude that his team had lost for the fourth time in a row.
"There's a lot that's up to us players. We need to show that we want to fight for this club. It's a tough job, but I can guarantee that everyone wants to turn this around as quickly as possible," says City's captain Kyle Walker to Sky Sports according to BBC.
Swede Yasin Ayari started the match for his Brighton, but was substituted at halftime.
Shake-up in the table
One team that doesn't have a problem with their machine is Liverpool.
Premier League's table leader took three new points later on Saturday evening after Mohamed Salah secured a 2–0 win at home against Aston Villa. The Egyptian played a part in the first goal and then scored the second himself.
Liverpool has so far this season only lost one match in all competitions. That came against Nottingham Forest on September 14 (0–1).
The blow was therefore double for Manchester City, who now have a bit of a gap to Liverpool in the table. After eleven rounds, Liverpool leads with five points ahead of City.
