The incident occurred as Omar was speaking at a Minneapolis City Hall meeting on Tuesday. Just before the attack, she said that ICE should be abolished and that Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, should resign.
The man was tackled to the ground and taken away, after which Omar continued to speak, seemingly unharmed.

Omar has previously endured harsh words from President Donald Trump, including when he made remarks about Somalis in her home state of Minnesota in December.
