It was in May last year that a woman was severely beaten at a supported housing facility in Änggården, Gothenburg. She was seriously injured and later died in hospital.
The man has been sentenced to life imprisonment and has also been convicted of three counts of unlawful threats against the woman, with whom he previously had a relationship.
He had been discharged from a forensic psychiatric clinic three months before the murder, but was assessed at trial as not having had any serious mental disorder at the time of the assault.
