I have no energy left, the man is said to have said when he was pulled to safety.

Photos show a lone figure in a life jacket sitting in a small grey rubber boat in the middle of a black sea. The survivor, according to Russian media a 46-year-old man, is said to have lost half his body weight during the 67 days at sea. He is now receiving care.

During the time adrift, the 46-year-old's companions – his 49-year-old brother and 15-year-old nephew – died. They were found dead in the boat when the rescue came.

According to Russian media, the trio set out to watch whales at the beginning of August. They are said to have brought around 20 liters of water and a small portion of food when the boat's engine suddenly broke down.

The Sea of Okhotsk is located far north in the Pacific Ocean and is notorious for its cold water and many storms.
