A man in his 40s has been arrested after last week's extensive cyberattack against several airports, according to British police.

The attack was specifically directed at the company Collins Aerospace, which provides check-in systems to several European airports.

Among those affected was Heathrow outside London, Europe's absolute largest and most trafficked airport. The attack caused major delays and disruptions to air traffic.

Airports in Brussels and Berlin were also affected. On Wednesday, there are still major delays in Berlin as a result of the cyber attack.

The arrested man has been released with restrictions.
