He threw an unsecured, sharp hand grenade towards a group of people between multi-family houses on Rosengård in Malmö, where both adults and children were present on the fine late summer evening in August last year. The grenade rolled away without detonating and the 18-year-old was beaten down and assaulted by people on the yard, subsequently apprehended by the police.
Before the act, he had told another person that he would do it for a client who "wanted to get rid of people". During the trial, he has defended himself by saying that the purpose was only to scare, not kill.
He is sentenced to pay 200,000 kronor each to those who were subjected to attempted murder and 45,000 kronor each to those who were subjected to attempted aggravated assault.
