Malin Baryard Johnsson recently made a comeback in the World Cup after seven years, with H&M Indiana, of course.
The veteran mare has reached a relatively old age for a show jumper, but still seems to have more to give. After two clear rounds in Scandinavium, the Swedish duo were only a few tenths behind Dutchmen Willem Greve and Kim Emmen, who took first and second place respectively.
"I am lucky to have had a horse like Indiana for such a long time. I enjoy every moment we have together," says Malin Baryard Johnsson.
"We're doing this for her now. She doesn't owe anyone anything, but as long as she finds it fun and is in shape, she should absolutely be allowed to do it."
No World Cup
The comeback in January was the first time since 2019 that Malin Baryard Johnsson rode in the World Cup. The last few years have been about other competitions, such as the Swedish team gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
When it comes to the major championships, Indiana has done its thing.
Malin Baryard Johnsson herself is not so sure.
"The World Championships in Aachen this year are not an option for me. Indiana is a little too old and the younger horses are a little too young," says the 50-year-old.

"I'm also not looking to do a championship just to be in it. But then we'll see. I have a couple of younger horses that feel fantastic."
Got Olympic buzz
Have you felt a bit of an Olympic buzz in recent weeks as the Winter Olympics have been going on?
"Yes, they are crazy inspiring, these girls especially. I saw the 50-kilometre race today. I'm so impressed. It's so damn good," says Malin Baryard Johnsson.
So the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics...?
"No, it's not that far away. We'll see. It's not impossible."
