Tucker Carlson, who was previously a Fox News host and now hosts his own podcast, has campaigned for and alongside President Donald Trump.
But the Iran War was a turning point.
Carlson has been open about his anger over Trump's rhetoric - including his Easter call to Iran, "you crazy bastards" - and actions. In the podcast "Can't Be Censored" he accuses Republicans of "betraying" voters and Trump of prioritizing Israel's national interests over those of the United States, writes Axios.
"If I leave (the party), I think many others will too," Carlson says in the podcast.
There is widespread reporting that Carlson is considering a run for president in 2028.
