The French leader raised the tone against Israel during his visit to Egypt on Tuesday. Macron demanded that "humanitarian aid be resumed as soon as possible" in Gaza when he visited the Egyptian city of El-Arish.
Emergency aid to Gaza's inhabitants has essentially been completely stopped since March 2, after Israel and the terrorist-stamped Hamas failed to agree on a continuation of the ceasefire. The Israeli army resumed attacks on targets in Gaza on March 18.
Macron also condemned in strong terms the Israeli attack on 15 rescue workers in southern Gaza on March 23.
Humanitarian aid personnel must be protected when they operate, they are not part of the conflict, Macron emphasized.
The French leader, who had a regional top meeting with Egypt's president and Jordan's king during his visit to Cairo, also commented on the American President Donald Trump's proposal to relocate Gaza's population and develop the coastal strip into a luxury coastal area.
There are tens of thousands of crippled children who have lost their families. This is what we are talking about when we talk about Gaza, said Macron during his visit near the border together with Egypt's President Abd al Fattah al-Sisi.
Macron continued, addressing Israel:
The reality is that two million inhabitants are trapped (on the Gaza Strip). Tens of thousands have lost their lives after months of bombings, of a terrible war.
