Before the football match between France and Israel at Stade de France on Thursday evening, France's President Emmanuel Macron says that they will not "give in to anti-Semitism anywhere".
And violence – including in France – will never prevail, nor will intimidation, he says to French BFMTV.
The match is considered a "high-risk match" after last week's Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Amsterdam, which ended with violence against and by Israeli supporters.
Before Thursday's match, over 4,000 police officers have been deployed to prevent potential violence.
Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has told his French counterpart that the authorities must guarantee the safety of Israeli supporters, according to the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
