In a statement, the French presidential office praised des Cars' actions as responsible "at a time when the world's largest museum needs to calm the situation and regain strength to carry out major security projects."

Four men managed to steal jewelry worth nearly one billion kronor in just a few minutes. Several people have been charged with involvement, but apart from one valuable item, the robbers' loot has not been recovered.
