On Saturday, Annie Lööf will campaign with C leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist at Gärdet in Stockholm, where the Girl's Mile is taking place.
I think it feels obvious to put extra energy into the election sprint, she says, and adds:
It is important that we have a healthier tone and focus on collaborating in the middle.
The idea of the “broad middle” was a line that Annie Lööf made her signature. Now it has become relevant again, as C puts everything into achieving a centrist alternative with S, C, KD and perhaps MP.
Open door “a strength”
S leader Magdalena Andersson has not said which government alternative she prefers. She has said that the Left Party has "a long journey to go," but has not ruled out that the party could be part of a government.
However, it is impossible for C to sit in government with V.
Shouldn't Magdalena Andersson be clearer about what she prefers?
Sweden is in an uncertain world. In that situation, I believe it is responsible for a candidate for prime minister to say that one can cooperate with all parties except SD. The fact that that door is open is a strength for Sweden, says Annie Lööf.
Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist says that everyone goes to the polls with their own politics. When asked if she doesn't think Magdalena Andersson should close the door to V, she replies:
She has said that she only wants to close the door in one direction, so it is her choice.
No response about cooperation
The C leader still does not answer whether she could imagine sitting in a government that receives support from V, for example by collaborating on the budget.
The Left Party has been super clear that they want to be in government, and being in government with them is completely impossible for us.
Magdalena Andersson has said, however, that things can change after the election, perhaps even red lines. But Thand Ringqvist repeats her answer.
That question lies with the Left Party because they are the ones who have said they want to be in government.
