The state-owned mining giant LKAB made a quarterly profit of 3.6 billion kronor. This can be compared to the operating profit of 1.4 billion kronor for the same period last year.
The management explains the profit increase with a significantly higher delivery volume and a stable production. During the same period last year, the mining company was heavily affected by derailments on the Malmbanan railway.
The turnover increased from 5.5 billion to 9.6 billion kronor, despite lower iron ore prices.
