The newspaper has reviewed internal documents about serious work environment incidents at the mining giant that were not reported to the Swedish Work Environment Authority. Employees report several near-death experiences, that someone threw a detonator cap close to 1.5 kilograms of dynamite, and that it has been "very close" to colleagues ending up under a 15-meter-long rockfall.

Yesterday, work environment manager Annika Kruuna said she hopes and believes they refrained from reporting because of a different assessment, not with the aim of concealing.

On the intranet today, she admits her mistake and says the company is in contact with the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

“When we started looking at these cases, we saw that there were some that we now believe in retrospect should have been reported,” Kruuna says on the intranet.
