Among those convicted are the hotel's owner, manager and several board members, according to media outlets covering the trial. A total of 22 people were charged.
The investigation into the fire showed that the fire alarm was not working properly. In addition, some parts of the gas pipes did not meet a sufficiently high safety standard.
The hotel's owners deny the allegations and blame the gas pipeline supplier.
"We had regular inspections," he said during the trial.
The hotel was located in the popular ski resort of Kartalkaya in northern Turkey. The fire occurred on January 21, during a school holiday when hotels in the area are generally fully booked.
About 30 of those killed were children.
"I go to the cemetery every day. No psychologist can ease such pain," Hilmi Altin, who lost his wife and nine-year-old daughter in the fire, told AFP.
