Too many people are exposed to fraud or aggressive sales methods over the telephone. This affects many elderly people in particular, says Minister of Labour Johan Britz (L).

The government has previously appointed an inquiry to look into a ban on telephone sales. According to Britz, the Liberals want to see a ban regardless of what the inquiry concludes.

The Liberals also want to ban text message loans. The government has tried to address the high level of debt by, among other things, requiring quick loan companies to obtain a licence for banking or financing activities.

According to Britz, it has helped to some extent, but he believes that more needs to be done because more and more people are ending up with the Swedish Enforcement Authority.

It may seem like a quick fix, but it's actually about usury and fraud.
