Liberals promise 250 million kronor for public libraries in Sweden

The money will go towards more books, longer opening hours and better accessibility at libraries.

Libraries are our main cultural institution that reaches the most readers and citizens in Sweden, so I think the view that this issue is important is shared by most parties, Lotta Edholm (L), Minister for Upper Secondary Education, Higher Education and Research, told SVT.

The election promise is highlighted as a response to what Edholm describes as a crisis in reading.
