"This is not possible. This is not credible," said Jens Wennberg, a representative from Västerbotten.

"This won't be democratic."

He suggested that the extraordinary national meeting be moved to another date.

"It doesn't feel quite right if we have a national meeting where we can't trust that the delegates are with us all the time," said Gilbert Tribo from Skåne.

The party's fateful meeting was supposed to begin at 5 p.m., but started almost twenty minutes after the scheduled time.

"I look forward to a national meeting with high expectations and with respect and warmth for each other," said party leader Simona Mohamsson when she opened the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned.

Then the national meeting was adjourned due to technical difficulties. It got underway after about ten minutes, but was adjourned again.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the meeting chairman Arman Teimouri and the presidium were still busy resolving the problems.

"Can you nod if you hear me?" said representative Jenny Claesson, Uppsala.

Shortly thereafter, the meeting was adjourned a third time. At 6:30 p.m., the meeting restarted for the fourth time and the chairman attempted to call out to check that all delegates were present and connected, but delegates continued to point to extensive technical difficulties.

One point

The digital meeting has only one item on the agenda - the re-election of Mohamsson as party leader. But it is actually about whether the party should allow SD into a government if the Tidö parties win the next parliamentary election.

A majority of the party board followed Mohamsson's line a little over a week ago and decided to begin political cooperation with the SD.

Mohamsson is expected to be re-elected by the extraordinary national meeting, as those critical of the party's new political line have not managed to produce any opposing candidate.

Corrected: In a previous version, Simona's last name was misspelled in one place.
