Leksand coach Charles Berglund likened his team to "dead fish" after the first period.
I think we were worthless. We skated around like dead fish out there, said Berglund to TV4 Play after the first period.
But it would get better – even if it took a while.
The visitors' Bobby Trivigno scored 1–0 on a rebound – with some luck – at the end of the second period.
The puck bounced, I tried again and it bounced off someone and over the goalkeeper. It was a bit of luck, he says to TV4 Play about his goal.
Quick goals
By then, Brynäs had been leading the game in the first period, while Leksand evened out the game in the second.
But it still looked like the league leaders had control of the situation.
Then Leksand struck.
With 5.30 left, Patrik Norén steered in Kalle Östman's shot and just over two minutes later came the winning goal.
Max Veronneau pushed the puck into the corner behind the goal and Lukas Vejdemo could receive it on the other side of the goal and score 2–1.
"A damn long time ago"
And Leksand could win after two straight losses.
It's been a damn long time since we turned around a game like this. This will give us a boost. I hope this was the turnaround, says 1–1 goal scorer Patrik Norén.
Who got into a fight with Brynäs captain Johan Larsson after the final whistle.
He crosschecked me a few times in the back and neck, then he didn't want to be involved anymore. Then he backed off. Then I gave him a few in the face, says Norén to TV4 Play.
Jakob Silfverberg, whose Brynäs lost the league lead to Färjestad, was downbeat afterwards:
We didn't play a top game. They scored two goals there at the end, it's clear that's sour, says Jakob Silfverberg.
