These were popular trains that people used and needed, says Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar at a press conference at Stockholm Central Station.

The party also wants to secure long-term state funding for night trains.

The Left Party points out that many popular routes have been discontinued, such as night train services from Gothenburg to Umeå and to Jämtland, which were discontinued in 2025.

The Left Party also wants to speed up work on the double track along the East Coast Line, from Gävle to Härnösand, so that work can begin on all stages in time.

It is one of the most important routes for tying the country together, says Dadgostar.

She wants the entire double-track section to be completed by 2035.
