Until recently, it was expected that the Left Party would vote for the Social Democrats' candidate for Speaker of the Riksdag in the election to be held next Monday.
But according to information to Ekot, the Left Party is considering voting for current Speaker Andreas Norlén instead – if he is put forward as the opposition candidate. The party tells Ekot that there are “strong objective reasons” to re-elect Norlén.
The Social Democrats have made it clear that they want to see a new Speaker and that it should be a Social Democrat. However, who the party will propose has not been made public.
