The day after the men's national team crushed Azerbaijan 6-0 in the Nations League, Peter Gerhardsson presented the squad for the decisive playoff matches for the European Championship, against Serbia on November 28 and December 3.
I'm inspired by the men's national team, by the attitudes we like; winning the ball all over the pitch, the quick transition game, he says.
His own national team is also inspiring, considering that in the last ten matches, they have only conceded four goals. The 12-0 aggregate win over Luxembourg in the first playoff matches also shows that the women's national team has started scoring goals.
Then we got to practice our offense and low-set defense, says Gerhardsson.
Gerhardsson has selected as many as 26 players for the matches against Serbia.
One reason is that we have players with yellow cards who can be suspended. But also to be able to make changes, if needed, for the second match.
The away match will be played in Lescovac on November 28 and at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on December 3.
The winner of the double match will qualify for the European Championship in Switzerland next year.
