An unusually good harvest of 6.3 million tons boosted Lantmännen's results last year, allowing it to raise the dividend to a record level despite a tough year. "Because agriculture had a very, very strong result in 2025, we managed to increase the dividend," said CEO Magnus Kagevik.

The good harvest is welcome for the farmers' cooperative, which, after a weak start to the year, launched a savings program with the goal of saving half a billion kronor. During the 2000s, there have only been three times when the harvest exceeded 6 million tons.

"It is the highest in many years. It contributes greatly because we get better utilization in our large facilities that we have around Sweden. We run more volume through our smaller facilities and then we can spread the fixed costs over a larger volume, which means that our earnings increase," says Kagevik.

Dividend is increased

The dividend will be increased to SEK 1,280 million compared to SEK 1,125 million last year. Lantmännen will also pay an extra dividend of SEK 730 million at the beginning of the year after the divestment of Swecon.

"In our distribution, we provide rebates and cashback to our members when they trade in agricultural products."

While the harvest was unusually good, many farmers are under pressure from low commodity prices for grain, among other things. The low world market prices are a result of high grain stocks.

"Livestock producers have had better profitability in 2025, but for grain growers it has been very tough," says Kagevik.

Impairment burden

Lantmännen's operating profit was a loss of SEK 419 million, compared with a profit of SEK 630 million in the comparison quarter. The result follows an impairment of SEK 1,169 million in, among other things, the food business Cerealia.

Adjusted operating profit for the third four-month period amounted to SEK 750 million, slightly better than last year's profit of SEK 630 million. However, adjusted operating profit for the full year 2025 ended at SEK 2,108 million, which is below the 2024 result of SEK 2,166 million.
