According to the proposal, families with young children will receive a higher subsidy rate of 70 percent of the labor cost.

A babysitting or cleaning service that costs 500 kronor with today's tax deduction will cost 300 kronor under what the L party calls a "toddler tax."

It's a relief for that period in life when time is scarce and everyday logistics are the heaviest. Then more mothers can work an extra hour, or come home at the same time but to a home that is clean and has freshly cooked food, says Larsson.

How much the proposal will cost must be studied further, according to the Minister of Equality.

But an initial estimate is that it will end up somewhere between one and two billion kronor. That is something we will take with us in future negotiations.
