At 5 p.m. on Sunday, the Liberals will begin their extraordinary national meeting, which will take place digitally and be followed by a press conference.

There is only one item on the agenda for the meeting - whether Simona Mohamsson should be re-elected as party leader. In practice, this also means whether her new line on government cooperation with the Sweden Democrats is supported.

The complete reversal is deeply dividing the party and several senior Liberals have announced that they will leave if the line is kept - at the same time L ministers have said that they will resign if Mohamsson is not elected. However, it is highly unlikely that this will happen.

Despite the criticism, no opposing candidate has been presented and everything indicates that Mohamsson will remain in office.

According to Liberals TT spoke to, more than one candidate is required for there to be a secret ballot. If there is only one, as is the case so far, there is no secret ballot and Mohamsson can thus be confirmed without a vote.
