Jon Dahl Tomasson will leave his position as head coach of the Swedish men's national team.
After a tough start to the World Championship qualifying, with only one point in four matches and double losses to Kosovo, the Swedish Football Association chooses to terminate the cooperation with the Danish coach.
Shortly after the news, several national team players began to show their support for Tomasson on social media.
Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski is one of them who praises his former head coach:
"A great man and great coach. I wish you all the best in your next chapter. It has been an honor", writes Kulusevski under two pictures of himself and Tomasson.
Anthony Elanga also expresses himself via Instagram, with a clear statement that the team has not given up:
"We have stumbled, but we are not finished. Our story is not over yet. See you in November", writes Elanga.
Yasin Ayari chose a more cryptic post, in Latin:
"Aut viam inveniam aut faciam", writes he.
The expression means: "I will either find a way, or make one."
Sweden's next national team gathering awaits in November. Then Blågult will meet Switzerland away on November 15 and Slovenia at home at the Strawberry arena on the 18th.
