"Today, the EU and India began a new era of cooperation. Through a groundbreaking trade agreement between two economic giants, together with a new security and defense cooperation, we show that prosperity and security are built through partnership, trade and deepened cooperation," writes Kristersson.
He concludes the post by saying that it is “excellent news for growth and competitiveness in Sweden, Europe and India.”
The agreement, which reduces tariffs on most consumer and industrial goods, must now be reviewed and approved by both sides - by the European Parliament and the member states in the Council of the European Union - before it can enter into force.
