When Kristersson on Monday set out on a bus tour from Stockholm to Gothenburg, some moderate employees were heard singing "we hate Andersson" to the tune "Genom eld och vatten". "Andersson" referred to the Social Democrats' leader Magdalena Andersson.
Kristersson claims that he himself did not hear the chant, but thinks it was unwise to sing like that.
"That's not how you do it"
They will get a very clear feedback on this. That's not how you do it, he says.
TT: Can it be about a culture that exists in the party?
-No, absolutely not. It was a few isolated individuals and they will be told that that's not how you do it.
The Social Democrats believe that there is a culture of hate towards them in The Moderate Party.
"It is apparently so accepted in the party to express, in this case sing, hate towards the Social Democrats' party leader that it happens completely openly in front of Sweden's press corps and in the presence of the Prime Minister", says the parliamentary group leader Lena Hallengren (S) in a written comment.
Behave
The question of how to behave in politics is extra hot after the party leader debate in SVT on Sunday, when above all the Left Party's leader Nooshi Dadgostar was criticized afterwards by, among others, Kristersson for being loudmouthed and repeatedly interrupting her debate opponents.
After the debate, the Center Party's party secretary Karin Ernlund has invited her colleagues in the parties to a meeting to discuss how to behave.
Kristersson is positive about it, even though, according to him, such conversations about rules of order for politicians are already ongoing.
It is quite obvious that it may be needed. So it's good that those conversations can include this as well, says the Prime Minister.
It would be good if we agreed that in this election campaign, a mature conversation is required, rather than shouting and loudmouthedness.
