At 12 o'clock on Wednesday, emergency services personnel at the rescue service in Hudiksvall gathered to honor the woman who was killed in connection with an ambulance call to Harmånger in Nordanstig municipality on Saturday. She was also honored at many other locations around the country with a minute of silence and flags at half-mast.
After the incident, renewed demands have been made that ambulance personnel must be informed if there are known risks of threats or violence in connection with a call.
According to Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party), who participated in a minute of silence during a business visit to Järfälla, a review is underway.
I do not want to draw any conclusions until this has been properly investigated. But I have a very great understanding of the ambulance employees' demands, that they must be informed if there are threatening risks, he says.
There is an ongoing effort and it is incredibly tragic that this could happen before that work is completed. But it just highlights how important it is to get rules so that you know exactly what information ambulances should receive before entering.
