The news comes as Klarna – a major player when it comes to payments and credits online – is expected to take decisive steps towards a stock exchange listing in New York this week.
Klarna's payment card, with which the user can choose to pay directly with their own money or make the payment with a 30-day invoice, has already been launched in the USA in July.
"The launch follows a successful pilot in the USA, where 685,000 Americans have already acquired the card since July," writes Klarna in a press release.
Klarna's CEO and founder Sebastian Siemiatkowski says in a comment that the card gives consumers the opportunity to choose between paying directly or with credit with one and the same card – a function that most banks no longer offer today.
The launch of the card follows a week where there have been reports that Klarna's expected stock exchange listing in New York will get underway with a marketing period this week.
